Sure is. "Willys" is stamped on the sides of the hood and might be painted orange or red.

My son said the same thing, that is a project and a half, but he would love to have it.  He said he would use it too, not just set it up!  Was that yours?

I just went to Ask.com. Typed Willys.  Lots of available parts there.  Those things are classics.

Great project Harold. You will have a great time with that one. Funny thing is, I just got my '74 CJ5 running today. What a coincidence. I can't wait to follow your progress.

Thanks, Stilgar. This is something I have wanted to finish for a long time. I'll remember to take my good camera along for this puppy. I'm only interested in getting all of the mechanicals up. It will probably stay mostly ugly. This is staying...

Mary - This has been in my dads family forever. It's in a corner of my moms pole barn. But not for too much longer. My brother and I will be pulling it out soon so I can get gas into it and hose it off.

Any second now, all you men are going to start making grunting noises. I'm just kidding.  This looks like a fun project--the kind you can sink your teeth into, and get a lot of satisfaction from.  I can't wait to see some progress shots!

IMO - This project looks like a ton of work. It will be a major job just to get it running. It's been setting there long enough for a ground hog to build a burrow under it, so it's been a while.

By the looks of the suspension and driveline parts I'd say a grease gun, several tubes of grease, and a few replacement zerks are on the list.

Here's my day seven update: We got a new clutch kit, gas tank, steering wheel, gear shift knobs, water pump, most of the brake stuff. To a tune of $750.00. They convinced me to get the fly wheel machined instead of buying a new one. I dropped the...

Blah. I was expecting to be putting up a day Eight update tonight but we ran into a snag. I cleaned up the bolts on a wire wheel and went to put the flywheel back on and after having the flywheel resurfaced, now the bolts are too long and rubbing...

You must be writing about the bolts that hold the pressure plate in place on the flywheel, because the resurfacing shouldn't have done anything to the area where the flywheel bolts to the engine. The only way I see the flywheel bolts could be too...

Yeah, you're right, Dave. I don't know what I was thinking when I made that comment. I was tired and cranky. It's the bolts for the flywheel to the engine. Each bolt has one flat washer and a nut. I started off with the washers under the nuts, then...

Are you sure they're the right bolts? I've never seen a flywheel bolt to the crank with flat washers and nuts on bolts. They usually bolt into a threaded crankshaft. And the thickness of that area should not have changed on the flywheel, so the bolts...

Yep. That's what I had. I saved everything in order as it came apart. Four of the bolts look like the originals with a fine thread and two are coarse threaded.

Interesting that the end of your crankshaft isn't threaded, that it uses nuts and bolts to attach the flywheel. I think your machinist did you a disservice if he/she machined the area where the bolts pass through. For the obvious reasons that you see....

My eyes aren't what they used to be. I looked for the recessed surface, as that's usually the way it's done, but I couldn't tell if the plate was stepped or not.

Seems like these projects go one step forward, then two steps backwards. After putting 3 gas line filters on the 1956 Chevy, the gunk was still clogging up the filters and causing the car to stall, so a new tank has been ordered.

Nobody if you drive slowly enough and don't take it out of gear on a hill. Boring and uneventful are good. Though watch out on the flat and level.
