I'd say mid sixties. It is cloudy. These photos are a little washed out. I'll try to get some better pictures the next time with a real camera. The last time I checked, there's a 30% chance of showers tomorrow.

Maybe in July, James. My lovely wife planted the rest of the garden at 6AM this morning. She felt some sprinkles while taking one of the dogs out. I topdressed some 12-12-12 over everything before coming in for lunch. It should soak in nicely by the...

I don't name them. I don't think anyone else here has given them names either. I prefer not to give names to anything that might be a potential meal. My very first feeder calf was a hereford heifer that I named "Hamburger". That was the...

Yes, I understand.  My folks follow the same theory.  However, sometimes you get animals from other people, and they come pre-named, right?  My parents had a cow that they got from someone.  Her name was Lily, and she was...

Wasn't too bad. I did a little mowing along the driveway and road. Then Lisa and I measured off our road frontage. The farm next to us is getting sold and broken up into home sites. Someone affiliated with the auction put a marker flag 72 feet too far...

Hi James. My idea of perfect weather is low sixties and overcast so that I don't sweat like a cow.

Lori made me Google sweaty cows. 25% of their cooling is through the nose by panting, and the rest is through the skin according to Mississippi State University.  They do sweat, but they aren't very efficient at it like people and horses.

This entire garden is planted to corn. Just got it in tonight. We have really heavy clay, so we had to haul in blended topsoil like this. The main garden is the same way. I think the topsoil was a mix of sandy loam and turkey manure.
